Freshman center Hunter Dickinson poured in a career-high 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Michigan pounded Minnesota 82-57 in a matchup of Top 20 Big Ten teams at Ann Arbor, Mich., on Wednesday.

Isaiah Livers had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists and Franz Wagner supplied 12 points, five rebounds and four assists for No. 10 Michigan (10-0, 5-0 Big Ten). The Wolverines, who retained sole possession of first place in the conference, led by as many as 37 points.

Marcus Carr led No. 16 Minnesota (10-3, 3-3) with 14 points but he shot 5-for-16 from the field. Gabe Kalscheur added nine points.

The Wolverines shot 56.9 percent from the field while holding the Golden Gophers to 32.4 percent shooting.

Dickinson opened the second half with a jump hook and a layup to give the Wolverines a 10-point lead, 36-26.

A Livers layup and two Wagner free throws turned it into an 8-0 Michigan run. Kalscheur ended it with a basket in the lane.

The Wolverines soon went on a 7-0 run with Wagner scoring the last four points on a jumper and layup. That gave them a 49-30 lead with 14 minutes remaining.

Chaundee Brown's dunk off a Minnesota turnover made it 56-34 with 12 minutes left.

Minnesota's Tre Williams was whistled for a Flagrant 1 foul with 11:20 left for striking Brown in the face while driving to the basket.

Michigan's lead surpassed 30 points when a Wagner 3-point attempt rattled around the rim and dropped through with 9:24 remaining. Dickinson completed a 20-0 Wolverines outburst with two free throws to make the score 71-34.

The Wolverines led by as many as 12 points in the first half but the Golden Gophers finished with an 8-2 spurt to cut the deficit to six, 32-26, by halftime.

Dickinson bulled his way to 14 first-half points as the Wolverines shot 51.7 percent from the field and had a 20-8 advantage in points in the paint.

The Gophers hung around despite shooting 33.3 percent. Carr had 10 points, including all eight points during their late spurt.
