Trevion Williams posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, lifting Purdue to an 81-69 win over Indiana on Thursday night in Bloomington, Ind.

The Boilermakers (9-5, 4-3 Big Ten) won their eighth straight in the in-state rivalry, dating back to the 2016 season. Jaden Ivey added 13 points for Purdue, while Brandon Newman finished with 12 points and Eric Hunter Jr. had 11 points and four assists.

The Boilermakers made baskets from all over the floor throughout, shooting 53.2 percent from the field and 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from 3-point range.

Trayce Jackson-Davis led Indiana (8-6, 3-4 Big Ten) with 25 points. Armaan Franklin added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Hoosiers, while Race Thompson posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

But Indiana couldn't overcome a poor night shooting from both the 3-point line (3-of-18, 16.7 percent) and the free-throw line (16-of-29, 55.2 percent)

After a Franklin jumper cut Purdue's lead to 50-49 with 13:12 remaining, the Boilermakers took control of the game down the stretch. An inside hook shot from Williams put the Boilermakers up 61-53 with 9:40 remaining, then an Ivey 3-pointer with 3:47 left extended Purdue's lead to 72-60 and sealed the game.

Purdue got off to a torrid start, making six of its first seven 3-point attempts to build an early 29-17 lead. Four different Purdue players sank 3-pointers in the first half, with Hunter, Sasha Stefanovic and Newman each hitting two 3s.

Jackson-Davis scored 10 points for Indiana in the first half, but picked up his second foul at the 9:57 mark was limited to just nine first-half minutes.

After a Stefanovic basket put Purdue up 33-22, the Hoosiers responded with a 9-0 run, cutting Purdue's lead to 33-31 after an inside basket from Thompson with 2:39 left.

Purdue then scored the next seven points, going back up 40-31 on a corner 3-pointer from Hunter with 1:30 left in the half. But Indiana was able to respond before the end of the half, with a 3-pointer at the end of the shot clock from Jerome Hunter and a drive from Franklin at the first-half buzzer to cut Purdue's lead to 40-36 at halftime.

Franklin, after missing his last two games with an ankle sprain, provided a spark off the bench for the Hoosiers with 8 first-half points. But Purdue still went into the locker room ahead after shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from 3-point range (7-of-9).
